Who is Olcott Photography?

Hey there! My name is Jordan and I am a 24 year old passionate and determined photographer of over 5 years! I have photographed countless weddings, senior pictures, maternity & newborn pictures, events, and so much more!

I believe that every photograph has the power to tell a story, evoke emotions, and preserve memories. Whether it’s a fleeting smile, a quiet sunset, or the bustling energy of a city street, I strive to create images that go beyond just showing what’s in front of the lens. I want my photos to reveal something deeper about the people and places I capture, offering a fresh perspective and a glimpse into the unique beauty of everyday life. Each picture is an opportunity to share a piece of that world with you.

Ultimately, my goal is to help you cherish and remember the beauty in your own moments, whether they're grand or simple. If my work can bring a smile to your face or a sense of warmth to your heart, then I feel I’ve succeeded!

About Me

Photography has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up around cameras and electronics my entire life thanks to my dad and brother. My dad has always been a very “techy” person keeping up to date with all the newest technology and releases. Thanks to him I shifted into the art of video making alongside my brother, Michael. We would make homemade short films on my Nintendo 3DS not knowing the quality was the absolute worst! I then found myself learning about camera quality and how to fully use a DSLR camera. However, being so young there was no way I was going to afford a brand new $1,000 camera. Therefore, my brother and I would borrow my grandma’s handheld camcorder continuing to make short films, especially our signature “SlendyMark” based on the Slender Man video games and the YouTuber “Markiplier”.

After years of making short films, I slowly gravitated towards the photography side of cameras, all while still loving and creating videos. Still not being able to afford a professional grade camera, I would use my old Cricket phone to take photos of anything and everything. Looking back at them, man were they bad! But thanks to those years of short films, making YouTube videos, taking photos with my phone and any camera I could borrow from family, I bought my first camera. I decided to go with a used Canon 5D Mark II from Ebay. I slowly started learning how to use the full capabilities of the camera, how to edit in Adobe software’s, color correction, file storage, websites, and so much more. Thanks to my love of photography, I was finally able to show what I was capable of. Starting off taking photos of family dogs in front of backdrops, hiking through our woods taking photos of wildlife and landscapes, to portraits of my sister and friends. I was finally comfortable enough to start a business, Olcott Photography.

Over many years of research, self-teaching, and determination, I’ve been thankful enough to capture countless moments from maternity and newborn photos to senior photos, to weddings, to family pictures. I make it my mission to capture all of the most important and beautiful moments of your life and I’m beyond grateful to be included in those moments!

It has been a journey for sure and a journey I’m excited to continue pursuing. Thank you to everyone that has supported me and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
